Radius Bike Shop is pleased to announce that we are the World’s First Dealer to offer the Peram Never-Flat Tube system. Peram Never-Flat Tubes are installed by removing and replacing your current bicycle tubes. Peram Never-Flat Tubes are made from a proprietary (Pat Pending) rubber compound and offer a firm, airless alternative to a traditional tube…and will never go flat.
We have worked with Peram Never-Flat for months on product development, prototyping, packaging etc. Peram is the North American subsidiary of Perubco Corporation, which is a high-tech rubber and plastics company in Vietnam. Perubco Corporation has large OEM customers such as Honda and Nissan. Peram Never-Flat has attended InterBike, Philly Bike Expo, and is currently attending Taipei CYCLE, the largest bicycle trade show.
We are excited to offer Peram Never-Flat Tubes to the retail, online and reseller channels. Listed below are the initial sizes available. More sizes will be arriving this spring.

We recently sold our 30 year old Phil Wood Spoke Cutting & Threading Machine. It was still going strong, but we needed to make room for the acquisition of this brand new unit. The new machine rolls threads on 12,13,14,15 gauge spokes, the older P.W. machines were limited to 14 &15 gauge.
With the addition of this fine machine, we can now cut and thread any size spoke in the following gauges: 12,13,14,15. This gives us complete freedom and creativity in the wheel building process. It also allows us to perform quick repairs to damaged wheels. Contact us for questions and details on services offered.
“The Phil Wood Spoke Cutting and Threading Machine is designed and manufactured to provide an invaluable tool to manually size, cut, and place a factory-quality thread on a spoke within a few seconds. The thread is rolled/cold forged onto the spoke, which does not remove material as would occur if the thread were cut into the spoke.
The machine performs through the operation of a manual crank. One revolution of the machine handle both cuts and threads the spoke. It is designed to cut and thread 1.8 mm (15 ga.), 2.0 mm (14 ga.), 2.3 mm (13 ga.) and 2.6 mm (12 ga.) spokes and place 10 mm of 56 tpi thread on the end of each spoke.
Our machine is capable of cutting carbon steel, stainless steel, titanium, anodized, and powder coated spokes. Butted and aero spokes can be cut and threaded on the full diameter portion of the spoke. Please be sure to thoroughly clean your machine and dies after cutting and threading powder coated spokes.”
A list of a few larger corporate users of the Phil Wood Spoke Cutting and Threading Machine:
JR from Threshold BMX was telling me about this crazy bicycle he and a good friend, Jim Stack, built. A completely backwards bike, an impossible bike to ride…well, almost impossible. Based on an older Schwinn middleweight cruiser, it features a double headtube with industrial gears mounted to reverse the steering.
The handlebars feature free rotating grips and ball joints so the handle bars flop around independently from one another. The seat is also on a ball joint, so your ass is thinking backwards too. The driveline is backwards, pedal forward and it goes backwards and vise-versa.
The kicker is the wheelset, carefully laid-out and executed by the fine folks at Shirk’s Bike Shop, including Luke Shirk. The wheels are purpose-built eccentric off axis. Different spoke lengths and pre-taco’ed rims come together to create the goofiest feeling bicycle on this planet. The build is executed with precision as Jim Stack is a master welder and JR is a fabrication / machining guru.
Two people are documented riding this bike for a sustained time. Stay tuned to future Radius Events, we may have to bring back the Backwards bike for a Rodeo event! Don’t get sour at Pee Wee Herman, it is much much harder to ride than meets the eye; a complete mind bender.
