Cycling is a sport that is widely accessible and a great example of meshing body and machine. To achieve the best success on your bike whether you are casually touring or racing for those valuable upgrade points, your fit will be an integral part of your success and enjoyment of the sport. To be comfortable and perform well you require a good position that will minimize risk of injury, apply power to the pedals over long periods of time, and handle the bike in an agile and natural way. We help cyclists of all disciplines achieve their cycling goals from the touring rider, road racer, mountain biker rider, and time trialist. Each rider has unique needs that can be met through the proper fitting.
What is a bike fit?
Bike fitting is the process of methodically aligning your body in a position where the repetitive strain on muscle and joints is minimized, pressure in vulnerable points is reduced, and your body is allowed to function at its peak for the greatest amount of time.

Marty is a certified Professional Bike Fitter through the Serotta International Cycling Institute (SICI), uses his knowledge of anatomy and kinesiology (the study of human movement), and draws on his lifelong cycling experience to provide you the best experience on your bike possible.
Radius Bike Shop’s partnership with PT Bike Fit allows for a seamless experience between shop and fitter to achieve the best fit outcome and address customer fit concerns. Ask in-store about Bike Fitting specials offered to Radius Bike Shop.
A bike fit takes two to three hours of time. The assessment starts with an interview about your riding, and includes a physical exam by our physical therapist to evaluate your strength, flexibility, and history of injuries or medical conditions. Using that background, your position on the bike is methodically aligned from these 3 contact points: Foot and Cleat Position, Saddle Position, and Reach to your handlebar. Detailed documentation is recorded and recommendations are made to achieve your ideal fit. Included in the fitting process is Motion Capture Video Analysis, before and after photos, detailed documentation of before and after positions, pressure relieving saddle trials, handlebar sizing, and use of EXiT Fit Bike with power and cadence analysis. After riding for a few weeks in your new position, a follow up appointment is included to make final adjustments.
PT Bike Fit also offers the following through the use of the EXiT Fit Bike:
- Real time power readings show how changes affect your power and efficiency.
- Adjustable crank arm lengths: See how changes in crank arm length affect power, cadence, and also pain due to limited range of motion.
- Real time position changes without stopping pedaling or getting off the bike.
- Compare multiple bikes and brands fit before making a purchase decision.
- Custom frame sizing
